Joined The A to Z Challenge!

I've decided to sign up for the A to Z Challenge in April, where I'll have to make a post each day for each letter of the day. The A to Z challenge is in alphabetical order from A to Z and each day, except Sunday, i'll have to make a post starting with the letter of that day. So on the first day i'll have to write a post starting with the letter a, and then on the second day starting from the letter b, and the third day c, and so on....
I am really looking forward to this challenge! I've been wanting to do the April A to Z challenge ever since I first heard about it a couple of years ago and this year, I am going to try it! I hope I can keep up!

Mr.Shiny!

Mr.Shiny was never whiny, but was always shiny,
never wearing a frown, his smile could be seen all over town,
everyday, people would smile, every once in awhile, when Mr. Shiny would come out to play.
People would never frown when they saw Mr. Shiny
Because every time people saw Mr. Shiny, Mr. Shiny would brighten their day,
all their fears and worries would go away!

This is the story of Mr. Shiny...

Crunch!

I've never liked to hear things get crunched and I cringe every time I drive and I hear something crunch under my wheels, hoping it's not an animal.

But something's that I do like that crunch are snow boots crunching in a thick pile of snow...

And Crunchies!

They are very good European chocolates, from my aunt that lives in London, I think. I like them alot!

Toy Cars And a New Computer!

Look at all of my toy cars! I was just organizing them before I put them into a different box, but I had to move them a little early to make some roof for my new computer! So back into the box they went! I've always wanted to arrange my toy cars like this since I was a kid, when I would see them arranged like this in toy car collector magazines and books, I thought it looked pretty cool.

Anyway I had to get a new computer because my laptop's screen finally went out and it was becoming slow. It would sometimes take couple of minutes to load a webpage, so I knew I had to get a new computer. I got a Lenovo from Microcenter. It's refurbished, but it looks and works like new. Microcenter also gives you a keyboard and mouse, but it doesn't come with a monitor unless you want one, but it will cost you  a little extra.
The whole computer with keyboard and mouse cost a hundred dollars with thirty dollar shipping, very cheap and works better than my laptop.
The reason why I chose a desktop computer is because I thought I might want to upgrade it for gaming and things. So I thought I would get a desktop instead. I like laptop's, but I don't like that you can't upgrade them. Actually I think you can, but it's alot harder to upgrade a laptop then it is to upgrade a desktop computer, so I wanted to get a desktop.
I really like my new computer it's fast, simple, and basic. I like fast, simple, and basic!
Uh-oh! I just checked out the link and there aren't anymore Lenovo's  left and I just got it last week. They seem to be running out of them everyday. So if you are looking for a new computer, go check out MicroCenter.com
I'm not sure how good those other desktop computers are,  that are left, but they are pretty cheap. So If you are looking for a good cheap, reliable computer, you should check out Microcenter! They have some pretty good, cheap laptops also!

Also Happy Valentine's Day! : )

(Update: also another thing that I like about desktop computers is that there is enough space for your cat to sit on your desk and for you to use your computer. Sigh....Simon!)

A Nice Warm Week Ahead!

Well after those series of cold fronts and winter storms, Houston's weather is back to normal with high temperatures back in the 70's, this week. I hope it lasts! : )

Cherishing Chocolate!

One thing that I cherish are my mom's chocolate cakes that she makes for us on our birthdays and on occasional special days. In face I must cherish them so much, that I forgot to take a picture of it. That must mean how much I like it! I like my mom's chocolate cakes so much that I ate it all before I had a chance to take a picture. I couldn't find a picture of it anywhere on my computer, I thought I had taken picture of it. That's why I had to draw a picture of it.

EVENTUALLY MAKE IT TO THE SURFACE...MOST LIKELY AS DRIZZLE. ANY
PRECIPITATION THAT REACHES THE GROUND...AGAIN MORE LIKELY IN THE
FORM OF DRIZZLE...MAY FREEZE ON CONTACT. ACCUMULATIONS IF ANY WILL

TRENDS AND POSSIBLY FURTHER EXTEND THIS ADVISORY IF NEEDED.

OTHERWISE...TWEAKED 1ST PERIOD GRIDS TO ADJUST TEMPS TO MATCH
CURRENT TRENDS. NAM12, TX TECH WRF & HRRR SUGGEST INCREASING LIGHT
PRECIP COVERAGE 2-9 PM ACROSS THE REGION AS INFLUENCE OF
SHORTWAVE BECOMES FELT AND LLVLS FURTHER SATURATE. 47

Will we get any more winter weather today? It doesn't look like it! The temperatures have been in the high 30's since this morning and it has been drizzling with some light rain since sometime during the late morning, but still no sleet, snow, freezing rain, or ice pellets. I don't think we are going to get any winter precipitation today. The weather forecasters at NOAA said that would let us know.
On a side note, I can't wait until the second week of March when the temperatures usually start to get warmer, especially after a very cold winter. It looks like the temperatures don't start to warm up until after the second week of March, in Houston, TX.
Anyway maybe some winter weather today, but i'm not really sure I want to see any anymore. I already saw a nice light, maybe sometimes moderate sleet shower yesterday, which is what I've been wanting to see. So unless we get some more sleet, or snow showers, i'm not really that interested, but anyway.....
I don't know what else to say! I'll let y'all know if any winter storm advisories, watch's, or warnings show up. Bye!

Surprise Sleet Showers in East Texas!

video
(Sorry there might not be sound, the video quality is not to great.)

Houston and most of east Texas, got some surprising sleet and snow showers today. It wasn't that surprising since the weather forecasters have been talking about it all week, but they weren't sure if any precipitation was going to form, or not and if the precipitation did occur, if it would fall down as snow, or sleet, so it was a surprise. The sleet pellets were really big too!
At around 6:20 am, when the first sleet shower started to pass through my house, I thought that the sleet might have been freezing rain, or maybe ice pellets, but when I ran outside I saw that it was sleet that was falling.
The sleet was as hard as ice, but as bright as snow. The sleet drops looked bigger than I remember, back when Houston got a sleet storm back in December, 2004. Which made me wonder at first if it was sleet, or just ice pellets, but it was sleet!
I'm glad that it was sleet. I've been wanting to see a sleet, or snow shower for a long time. I'm also glad that it only lasted for a couple of hours and that the temperatures didn't get to 32 degrees and freeze the sleet and cause problems for people going to work. So that's good!
I don't know if we will be getting any more winter storms, or precipitation this winter, but I said that last time! There is no winter weather in the current forecast, but we'll see!
That's it for now! Until next time! : )

Tail, or Time!

I want to write a tail, or should I write about time?

I will write a tale.....

Simon was a cat who lived inside his owner's house for twenty cat years, when his owner had suddenly left somewhere, but he didn't know where, he just packed a suitcase and left. A couple of weeks had gone by, still no sign of his owner. All Simon had left was his owner's family who fed him and gave him water. During those few weeks that Simon's owner was gone, Simon had thought that he had heard his owner's voice coming from a small black box that he had sometimes seen his owner talk into. Simon could barely understand the conversation, but it seemed to be something about his water bowl and making sure it had enough water in it.
Simon was on high alert now, no not the water bowl! What did they want to do with it??? Simon spent a whole three days worrying about his water bowl and wondering if the water was going to some day run out. "Why did they need to worry about it, there was already enough water in the bowl/" Simon thought to himself. but Simon was now getting worried and thought it would be better to conserve his water usage.
Simon spent those three days guarding his water bowl and every time one of his owner's family came into the kitchen, they would fill it up, thinking Simon wanted more, or cleaner water. But Simon would not share, afraid that the water in the water bowl would one day be gone, he only took a few licks out of it each day. He wouldn't even share his water bowl with his sister, who he hissed at when she went to the water bowl. His sister was more of a outdoor cat and had to spend those three days drinking water outside of the house, or wherever she could find it.
"I have to conserve the water!" Simon hissed at his sister. Simon's sister gave Simon a sharp look and shook her head. "Don't mess with the crazies...." Simon's sister thought to herself.
Eventually Simon got tired of guarding his water bowl and went on to other things, like sleeping on his owner's bed and on other places around the house.
After a few weeks of not seeing his owner, Simon was getting very worried about his owner and wanted to find out where he was. But then on one warm sunny day Simon's owner walked through the front door. Simon couldn't understand it, his excitement quickly turned into anger and he ran away from his owner. "Where have you been!" Simon thought to himself, purring and meowing loudly.
"Sorry Simon, I had to go on a urgent business trip!" Simon's owner said to Simon, while patting and rubbing him on the head.
"Ok!" Simon said purring loudly and smiling. Neither Simon, or his owner could clearly understand what each other was saying, but actions speak louder than words and Simon knew that his owner was sad to leave him. And Simon's owner knew that Simon was glad to have him back home and they both gave each other a big hug and smiled.

The end.

More Winter Weather on The Way?

PREV DISCUSSION... /ISSUED 448 AM CST SUN FEB 2 2014/

DISCUSSION...
AT 10Z/4AM...COLD FRONT JUST NW OF A KCXO/KDWH/KTME LINE. AHEAD
OF THE FRONT TEMPS ARE IN THE MID 60S WITH DEWPOINT TEMPS ABOUT
THAT MUCH. BEHIND THE FRONT KCLL/KUTS REPORTING TEMPS IN THE UPPER
40S. THE EXPECTATION IS FOR TEMPS TO CONTINUE TO DROP AS THE FRONT
PUSHES THROUGH SE TX AND OFF THE UPPER TX COAST. SUSPECT THAT MUCH
OF THE AREA WILL HAVE TEMPS IN THE 40S BY AFTERNOON WITH SHALLOW
COLD ADVECTION. COLD FRONT SHOULD SLOWLY REACH HOUSTON AREA AROUND
16Z OR 10AM AND THEN THE COAST AROUND 18Z OR 12PM. EXPECT AREAS OF
FOG TO STICK AROUND UNTIL FRONT PUSHES THROUGH. DENSE SEA FOG MAY
LINGER THROUGH THE MORNING ALONG THE COAST. THERE SHOULD BE ENOUGH
MOISTURE FOR SCT SHOWERS ACROSS THE AREA SO LIKE 60 POPS. LATEST
TRENDS IN HRRR SUPPORT THIS NOTION WITH GENERALLY 0.1-0.25 INCHES
OF PRECIP. MAY BE SOME ISO HALF INCH AMOUNTS OF RAIN WHERE SHOWERS
TRAIN ACROSS SOME OF THE SAME AREAS. POSSIBLE THAT ACTIVITY COULD
INCREASE IN COVERAGE LATER THIS MORNING INTO THE AFTERNOON AS
UPPER LEVEL LOW CURRENTLY APPROACHING THE BIG BEND MOVES EAST WITH
HEIGHT FALLS AND LARGE SCALE ASCENT SPREADING OVER THE AREA. 00Z
SOUNDING FROM KCRP SHOWS A STOUT CAP WITH 850MB TEMP AROUND 20C.
WILL KEEP SHOWERS IN FORECAST AND DOUBT THERE WILL BE ANY STRONG
DEEP CONVECTION DUE TO THE CAP. UPPER LEVEL TROUGH AXIS SWINGS
THROUGH 00Z-06Z MON SO EXPECT PRECIP TO END TOWARDS EVENING AND
OVERNIGHT.

UPPER LEVEL ANALYSIS HAS NEXT SYSTEM IN THE PACIFIC OFF THE
OREGON/CALIFORNIA COAST. THIS IS THE SYSTEM THAT SHOULD AFFECT TX
ON TUESDAY. SYSTEM SHOULD REACH S ROCKIES/WEST TX AROUND 12Z TUE.
IN RESPONSE MONDAY NIGHT EXPECT ISENTROPIC LIFT TO INCREASE WITH
DRIZZLE/LIGHT RAIN WITH SHOWERS BY 12Z TUE. MODELS ARE ALL IN
PRETTY GOOD AGREEMENT WITH UPPER LEVEL TROUGH MOVING INTO THE S
PLAINS WITH NEG TILT DURING THE DAY. PROBLEM IS THAT BEST PVA AND
LARGE SCALE LIFT WILL BE TO THE NORTH OF THE FORECAST AREA. MAY
STILL BE ENOUGH LIFT FOR SCT SHOWERS SO LIKE 50/60 POPS AGAIN FOR
TUESDAY WITH RAIN CHANCES DECREASING DURING THE AFTERNOON AS
TROUGH AXIS ROTATES BY THE AREA. MODELS ARE HAVING A TOUGH TIME
WITH SFC FEATURES NAMELY WEAK COASTAL LOW AND WARM FRONT
DEVELOPMENT. MODELS ARE KEEPING WARM FRONT JUST OFF THE COAST WITH
COASTAL LOW MOVING ACROSS UPPER TX COASTAL WATERS. ANY
THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY IN THE WARM SECTOR SHOULD REMAIN IN THE GULF
BUT WILL ALSO HAVE TO CONTEND WITH CAPPING. ACTIVITY SHOULD CLEAR
OUT LATE TUE WITH NEXT STRONG COLD FRONT PUSHING THROUGH EARLY WED
MORNING. COLD ADVECTION WILL BE STRONG ON WED AND TEMPS SHOULD
STRUGGLE TO REACH THE LOW 50S.

GFS/ECMWF ARE TRYING TO COME INTO SOME CONSENSUS FOR THE END OF
WEEK FORECAST. UPPER LEVEL PATTERN REMAIN SOMEWHAT ZONAL WITH
POSSIBLE RIGHT ENTRANCE REGION TO JET AFFECTING THE AREA. MAY BE
ENOUGH WITH A WEAK DISTURBANCE MOVING THROUGH ON THURSDAY FOR SOME
WEAK ISENTROPIC LIFT. WILL KEEP 20/30 POPS FOR THUR BUT LOOKING
LIKE BEST CHANCES OF RAIN WILL COME ON FRIDAY. BOTH GFS/ECMWF
SHOWING A STRONGER SHORT WAVE MOVING INTO THE S ROCKIES AND TX ON
FRI. ECMWF LOOKS TO BE A BIT MORE PROGRESSIVE WHILE GFS A BIT
SLOWER AND AMPLIFIED. WILL KEEP SOME RAIN CHANCES GOING INTO SAT
AS TROUGH AXIS FINALLY PASSES THE AREA AND EXPECT CONDITIONS TO
DRY OUT. COLD FRONT WILL ALSO PUSH THROUGH TRAILING THE STRONGER
SHORTWAVE TROUGH. STILL GOING TO HAVE TO KEEP AN EYE ON TEMPS FOR
FRI MORNING. HAVE SOME AREAS WITH LOW TEMPS IN THE LOW 30S.
FORECAST WILL KEEP RAIN AS PRECIP TYPE BUT VERY WELL COULD BE
FREEZING RAIN/DRIZZLE BASED ON TOP-DOWN PRECIP METHODOLOGY. GIVEN
UNCERTAINTY IN OVERALL PATTERN FOR THE END OF THE WEEK WILL LEAVE
OUT MENTION OF ANY FROZEN PRECIP. STILL SOMETHING TO MONITOR GOING
FORWARD WITH FUTURE FORECASTS.

The weather forecasters at NOAA think there might be some freezing rain, or drizzle this Thursday, or Friday, but they are not sure. NOAA said that they will let us know once we get closer to Thursday and Friday, when they can make a better forecast, but they are leaving the forecast for Thursday and Friday as just rain for now.
